We hadn’t heard anything like that, ever… I don't have this particular recording, but I like others made by this team. When Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi – The Four Seasons Recomposed first exploded into our collective ears almost a decade ago the effect for so many people was total. He is really one of the pioneers of the "historically informed" performances - and a very interesting, passionate and knowledgeable musician. If you go for "authentic", why not try the recording by Alice Harnoncourt and the Concentus Musicus Wien, directed by her husband Nikolaus. But I didn't like it because it sounded too harsh for my taste, so I gave it away - strange since I like most everything else by Kennedy. This was performed on period instruments and in the "historically informed" practice - I don't like the term "authentic" in the musical context. Next in line is Giuliano Carmingnola, directed by Andrea Marcon. Breathtaking speed, clean, passionate performance. I have it on vinyl and listened to it while preparing for my Abitur (something that permits you to enroll at a German university), early 1980s. My favorite recording is Iona Brown and the Academy of St.
